There are 3 different monomers in ABS’ structure: acrylonitrile, styrene and butadien. Butadien monomers form to polybutadien, styrene and acrylonitrile monomers generate styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) copolymer. Polybutadien (which consists C=C double bonds) stands as main chain structure. SAN chains attach onto this structure. ABS is a polyphased, firm and rigid thermoplastic polymer. ABS has a good impact resistance. It is also a frame and high temperature resistant polymer. Long term sun exposure cause loss of colour, decrease of impact resistance and ductility. ABS’ qualifications depends on the monomers’ rato and two phase’s molecular structure. Thus, there are many types of ABS products in the market. ABS is being used commercially since late 1940’s. SAN is a product suitable for the production of transparent materials. SAN is a hard, rigid and transparent plastic. Its chemical resistance is quite high.
