Polystyren is one of the oldest known vinyl polymers. Polystyrene is a polymer which has been polymerized from polystyrene monomers. The most common application for polystyrene production process is bulk polymerization. In this process high-impact polystyrene, styrene-acrylonitrile resin, general purpose (crystal-clear) polystyrene and other polystyrene types which have high brithness and high tensile strength can be produced. Polystyrene is a fragile, rigid, clear, scentless, easy-to-machine polymer. GPPS (General Purpose Polystyrene) is also known as crystal / crystal-clear polystyrene in the industry.
